Psilocybin truffles (sclerotia) are not covered by the Dutch Opium Act and are legally sold and used in the Netherlands. Fresh and dried magic mushrooms have been prohibited since 2008. We work exclusively with lawfully sourced truffles from established Dutch suppliers.
No sacrament ever leaves the estate — everything is consumed on-site under supervision, so you travel home carrying nothing regulated. If you work in a licensed or regulated profession, we recommend reviewing your own employer or professional-body policies beforehand.
No. Metamorphosis provides non-diagnostic somatic, contemplative, and psycho-spiritual guidance. Our facilitators bring therapeutic training, but the retreat is not a medical or psychiatric treatment and does not replace care from your own clinicians.
Difficult material is often part of the work. With a 1:3 facilitator ratio, someone is always close by. We meet intensity with somatic grounding, breath, and steady presence rather than distraction, and facilitators remain available through the night and in the days that follow.
SSRIs and SNRIs can interact with or blunt psilocybin. A supervised tapering protocol under your own physician’s care must be completed before the retreat. We are unable to accept participants currently taking lithium or tricyclic antidepressants. Never change medication without medical guidance.
A personal history of psychosis, bipolar I disorder, or schizophrenia; current use of lithium or tricyclic antidepressants; significant cardiovascular conditions; and pregnancy. Every application is reviewed individually during clinical screening.
No. Many guests arrive with no prior experience. Preparation calls, the opening ceremony, and your facilitators’ guidance are designed to meet you exactly where you are.
Dosage is agreed individually with your facilitators, taking into account your health history, sensitivity, and intention. Nothing is offered without your informed consent.
Circling is a relational, present-moment practice in which a small group attends to what is arising between people as it happens. Authentic Relating exercises build honesty and connection — preparing the ground for ceremony and supporting integration afterwards.
Fly into Amsterdam Schiphol, then take the direct train to Meppel or Steenwijk (around 1 hr 45 min). We arrange a private estate transfer from the station. Eurostar from London to Amsterdam is a comfortable alternative.
Yes. Our kitchen prepares organic vegetarian meals and accommodates celiac, vegan, and allergy requirements. Please share the details on your intake form.
Private bedrooms at Het Voorhuis are allocated in order of confirmed registration. If a private room is essential for you, let us know during your suitability call.
Integration continues after you leave, with scheduled one-to-one follow-up calls, group integration circles, and practices to help anchor insights into daily life.
If our screening identifies a contraindication, every euro is returned in full. For other cancellations, please refer to our Terms of Service & Intake Protocol or contact us directly to discuss your situation.
